What’s the Golden Visa?
It is a special residence license, regulated by the law 14/2013 of the 27 September and conceding a temporary residence in Spain, associated with a job license to the investors who realise a real estate investment of more than 500.000€ in Spain, free of charges.
Who can benefit of this license?
It is designed for residents outside the EU, it is not applicable for those who live in the EU, because these ones have already the right of free circulation and residence in the EU countries. The investor, in addition to the purchase of a property for more than half a million euros, has to prove that he has the financial means to maintain economically himself and his family without having to work, during the time that the license of residence is valid.
What’s the duration of the Golden Visa?
The Golden Visa gives the right to obtain a visa for the period of one year, able to get renewed for one more year under permission. When the delay has passed and the investor wishes to stay for more time in Spain, then he has to ask for a 5-year renewal. During this period, of course, it is mandatory that the investment be maintained.
Can the residence license be extended to the relatives?
Yes, the special license is designed for the investor, but also for his couple, spouse, children younger or elder and parents who depend economically of the persons who ask for the visa.
What procedures are necessary to obtain the Golden Visa?
This process has to be done by the Diplomatic Missions and the Consular Offices of Spain in the countries of origin.
